Rochelle Matthews

Office Manager

My recovery started with a workplace trauma that motivated me to enter therapy to address anger issues and flashbacks of childhood abuse. My marriage, full-time work, and homecare caused me great suffering. I drank as a way of coping with distress.

Within 5 years, I found my way to AA and ALANON meetings. The 12-step programs provided the stability I needed to repair relationships – including my marriage– and to begin my life with renewed spiritual, emotional, and physical healing.  Previous careers include Financial Director at Kids are Special (group therapy recovery program for children affected by parent’s addiction); Bookkeeper and Skills Trainer at Second harvest Food Bank.

After 30+ years of 12-step recovery, being sponsored and sponsoring other women who have been where I’ve been, I am gratefully recovering from the effects of this family disease and excited to be a part of the Los Gatos Recovery Center team.
